New Delhi : The CPM national leadership dropped hints for govt in Kerala to consider a full-time minister for it home portfolio, which is presently retained by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The leadership said while it is not dissatisfied with the present working of the department, the CM’s rising workload could affect the law and order situation in time.
The suggestion comes after a spate of Dalit murders in Kerala which, the leadership said, could affect party image at national level.
Pressed for a response to recent Dalit murders in the state, the national secretary Sitaram Yechury said, the party leadership in Kerala will address it.
He also made it clear that decision on minister for home portfolio or others will not be taken by the central leadership, rather the CM and others at state level will do what it thinks best.
